Grammar Point
-ㅂ니다/습니다
= the formal version of -아요/어요
| Vowel | → | -ㅂ니다 — 가다 → 갑니다 |
| Consonant | → | -습니다 — 먹다 → 먹습니다 |
| Noun + 이다 | → | 입니다 — 학생 → 학생입니다 |
💡 You already know -아요/어요 — this is just the formal version.
